More about Famous Brewers in Wisconsin

August 25th, 2010 3:37 am

Milwaukee, as the largest city by a wide margin in Wisconsin, has developed an interesting reputation within the state, and in some regards even nationally, as a very fascinating city to live in or visit and there are a lot of cool things about the city. One thing that people in need of legal counsel would appreciate about the metropolis is that if you need a bankruptcy attorney or bankruptcy lawyer, they are readily available to help people through those proceedings. In fact, the people of Milwaukee drink more beer per capita than the inhabitants of any other city in the country which is a truly impressive feat. In the upcoming paragraphs the breweries in the area around Milwaukee will be discussed more in-depth, perhaps shedding some light on why citizens of the city love their beer so much.

One of the biggest brewers in the nation sits right in the middle of downtown Milwaukee, the Miller brewery. Although recently merged with Coors and known officially now by the staggeringly creative name Miller Coors, everyone still just knows them as Miller. Miller is the brewer of some of the more popular beers in the country such as Miller Genuine Draft, Miller High Life, and Miller Lite. Recently, Miller has even come out with Miller Genuine Draft 64 which has a mere 64 calories and is in fact one of the lightest beers in the world. Furthermore, for people who like the taste of beer but not the effects of alcohol there is Miller’s brand of non alcoholic beer called Sharps which is also on sale at most bars.

Another popular beer around the area is Leinenkugel Brewing Company which is located near Milwaukee in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. While Miller produces beer on a huge, national basis there is more of a local feel to Leinenkugel’s, who produce craft beers that are mainly found in their area of the country. Among the different types of beer produced by Leinenkugel’s are craft brews such as Leinenkugel’s, “Summer Shandy” which features beer with a subtle but omnipresent lemonade flavor to the beer. Also in Leinenkugel’s wide array of brews is their Berry Weis which includes an interesting mix of Logan, elder, and blueberries to go with their beer that results in a taste almost similar to a liquid version of the cereal Fruit Loops.

Finally, although somewhat further away from Milwaukee, there is a brewer called Stevens Point Brewery in, you guessed it, Stevens Point Wisconsin. Stevens Point is similar to Leinenkugel’s in that they typically make craft, local brews as opposed to the massive conglomerate that is Miller and their beers have proven to be very popular within the state of Wisconsin.

The Wisconsin Property Tax – The Necessary Information

August 21st, 2010 1:14 am

Wisconsin property taxes like taxes of other states contribute to the state government fund.

The tax rates are calculated locally and can vary according to area. The amount of tax payable for properties in Wisconsin is similar to other states and are dependent namely on two factors. They are the millage rate and value of the house. The local tax assessor is responsible for estimating the price of your house and sending a notice, which gives information about the fair value of your house in the real estate market. For farmers, their agricultural land is taxed based on its agricultural value rather than its real estate value, thereby offering a tax break to farmers in Wisconsin. The estimation of market value of agricultural land is done by the state rather than by tax assessors.

The revenue department of the state has an important role to play in estimation of land value as the value of tax differs state to state and also due to the fact that tax assessors can function 10% below or above the original fair market value. After submission of list of properties values by the district tax assessors, the state calculates the average value, commonly known as equalized value. This ranking helps in reducing tax, especially the part of funds assigned for the state.

The equalized value is utilized for many other purposes like estimating the amount of property taxes in the Wisconsin state.
The state uses this value to distribute tax burden and also to distribute aid to throughout the state.

Wisconsin stands in the 9th position with regard to the total amount of property tax paid by its citizens. A median homeowner resident of Wisconsin pays $2777 of property taxes by owning a house of worth $1, 52,000.

If you get a notice from a tax assessor which gives a high determination of market value for your property, then you can submit an appeal about his evaluation. If the determined high rate of tax is true, then you may get a deduction in the Wisconsin property tax.

Wisconsin, similar to other states, gives a homestead exemption for house owners. Though the state gives exemption it is not available for everybody. It can be availed only by house owners getting lower income. In addition to above, the state provides a property tax deferral loan program. This program is all about providing loans to qualifying senior citizens to help them pay their property taxes for their houses.
